We got in!

12/1/2015

10 days later...10 days of having our email set as the home page. Looking and looking for a reply. Checking email at least every hour, at least until I know that there is most likely no chance our case worker is still awake in the States. And sometimes, just staring at the screen, clicking the refresh button, willing the inbox to give me a big, bold number "1."

Waiting paid off and we finally received a reply today. The orphanage said that we can come for a visit!

So after some conversation back and forth, we decided on Monday December 14, would be the day for our visit. We had told them we were available as early as the following weekend, but it turned this was the best time for them and we sighed a breath of relief because really, we needed some time to prepare. Apparently, we didn't put that waiting time to the best use. haha.

However, as it turns out, (life is funny with howevers!) we ended up needing to travel to the same city this week for some passport issues. We were going to be here from 12/7 to 12/9 and asked if there was any way they could let us in on one of those days. We even did the unthinkable and didn't pre-purchase our return train tickets. (Have you ever stood for a 4 hour train ride, with 2 children? We have!)

We waited, again, on pins and needles....(Is there ever going to be a wait in this process that doesn't feel like you are going to jump out of your skin at the slightest incoming email?)...we received good news. We could go see him while we were in town and save ourselves the back and forth travel next week, but we had to wait until Friday. We were planning to go back either tomorrow afternoon after our doctor's appointment, or Wednesday afternoon just in case she emailed us Tuesday night saying we could go. First thing is first, we aren't among the rich and famous (well famous could be questionable in our small town, but definitely not rich) and hotels aren't as cheap as you would think in Asia. Especially not the soft bed variety. But to save ourselves from double train rides in one week with an almost 2 year old that had to throw his Paci away 2 weeks before? We are going to live it up (do the best we can with said almost 2 year old who just threw his paci away 2 weeks ago) here in the hotel life. What will get me through? My living space cleaned, breakfast cooked for me AND my dishes washed?? I may need intervention when I get back home after almost a week here.
